Templates to help you prepare for the new academic year
We know that the first few weeks of the academic year are extremely busy and sometimes stressful.
Save time by using these templates in readiness for September.
Visual Timetables
Visual timetables give children an easy way to see what is being taught now, what is coming up next and when to expect learning breaks. Teachers should include symbols for each session and then use an arrow to indicate which subject is currently being taught.

Classroom Volume Scales
Using a volume scale in the classroom can help teachers maintain an acceptable level of noise during the lesson.
Using an arrow to indicate the expected level of volume for the session informs children whether they can use their indoor voices or if there is to be no talking.

Emotion Fans
No child will be ready to learn if they come into the classroom anxious or distressed.
Emotion cards which include symbolic facial expressions make it easier for pupils to indicate how they are feeling when they don’t have the language to verbalise it.
A set of emotion fans for each child allows them to display how they are feeling visually at registration each morning permitting staff to open discussions and help if required.
