Symbol Licensing

Use Widgit Symbols in your publication, website or product to make them accessible to all.

By using our comprehensive and widely recognised symbol set, you can easily add value to your product in whatever format you require. We licence our symbols into commercial products, publications, websites and across whole Local Authorities.

Please Note: An Annual License Fee will be charged where resources are sold for Profit.

We license symbols to other companies for use in their software, apps and online products. We can supply the symbols, along with a data set, linking the images to their words.

Symbol content in documents or websites
If you own a Widgit Symbol product, your licence allows you to use materials within your organisation. If you wish to distribute materials more widely you will need permission. If only a few symbols are needed and acknowledgement is given then licensing is often free or very low-cost. Licences can also be provided for projects using a larger number of symbols. As customer requirements can be very different, each request is treated individually.

Local Authorities
A number of local authorities have now licensed symbols for much wider use within their geographic area. Their licenses have been arranged so that symbols can be distributed for any not-for-profit purpose within the authority. This includes organisations like schools, social services, hospitals and doctors' surgeries, community centres and scout and youth groups.
