Staff spotlight: Cheryl Graham – Head of Customer Success
July 2024
As we continue to grow at Widgit, it’s important that our people – together with the communities we support – remain at the heart of all we do. As a passionate advocate for volunteering and our Head of Customer Success, nobody knows this more than Cheryl Graham.
From what makes Widgit a unique place to work to a very special volunteer project, we spoke to Cheryl on the lifechanging stories of our customers and nurturing those relationships, while always making space to give back. Read below as our ‘window into Widgit’ series continues!
What were your first impressions of Widgit?
My first impressions of Widgit were incredibly positive. What stands out most is the dedication that the team have to making a real difference in the lives of people with communication needs. Often company values are simply words, but at Widgit they are the basis of everything we do.
Tell us about your role as Head of Customer Success
As the Head of Customer Success at Widgit, my role involves ensuring that our customers receive the best possible support and value from our products. The customer success team are dedicated to helping customers have the best journey – from initial onboarding and training, to ongoing support and resource development. We aim to build strong, lasting relationships with our customers and help them get the most out of our products. My focus is on listening to customer feedback, continuously improving our service, and driving initiatives that enhance user experience and satisfaction.
What’s the most memorable piece of customer feedback you’ve received so far?
The most memorable feedback came from a parent who shared how creating a school holidays timetable for her autistic son helped prevent the usual meltdown he had due to a change of routine. She described it as lifechanging for the family as it meant that they were able to enjoy stress-free family time. Moments like these remind us of the impact Widgit Symbols can have on individuals and families.
What makes Widgit a unique place to work?
Widgit is unique because of its strong values and sense of community. The culture here is one of genuine care for staff and customers alike. Every team member is passionate about making a difference, and there’s a constant desire to improve. The company’s commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, along with a supportive and inspiring work environment, makes Widgit a place where you feel part of something meaningful.
Tell us about your involvement with volunteering at Widgit
At Widgit, we’re actively encouraged to give back to the community, and I’m happy to have been involved in several volunteering initiatives. One of my favourite experiences was working with a local school on a project to convert a bus into a music classroom for students with special needs.
We also participate in charity events by holding bake sales, and have organised collections for local foodbanks.
What’s your favourite Widgit Symbol, and why?
My favourite Widgit Symbol is ‘Family’ as that is the thing that is most important to me.
