The Camden Language and Communication Service (CLCS) is an integrated team of Speech and Language Therapists and Specialist Teachers. The team sits within the Primary Learning Support Service, a borough wide resource which provides support and advice to schools in Camden. CLCS works together with schools and families to support children with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) in primary mainstream schools in Camden. CLCS provides assessment and intervention for individual children with severe and specific SLCN needs, such as Autism and Specific Language Impairment. We also work at a whole school level, aiming to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence of school staff in meeting the needs of children with SLCN. This may involve pieces of work such as whole school training or developing communication friendly environments. |
