Chailey Communication System (CCS)
A category-based paper system to help individuals who have a severe visual and/or physical impairment to communicate.
Who is it for?
The CCS is suitable for children and adults with severe visual and physical impairment, resulting in no speech at all or limited/unintelligible speech.
What is it?
The Chailey Communication System (CCS) is a category-based vocabulary system that uses Widgit symbols. Each of its 18 categories comprise a number of subcategories and a potentially unlimited number of vocabulary items.

Versions of the CCS
There are 3 versions of the CCS book.

Purchasing the CCS
Please be aware that InPrint 3 is required in order to be able to view and edit the CCS. The system will then need to be printed and collated into a folder. CCS 6,15 and 45 are available to purchase below.
