Symbol Resources to support the performances at Lighthouse in Poole
Widgit have collaborated with Chris Jarvis to create symbol resources to support the pantomime audiences this Christmas.
Symbol stories are a great way to create accessible learning materials. Children may find these symbols useful to prepare for their visit to the pantomime.
You can use the Going to the Pantomime resource to anticipate the experience of visiting a theatre at Christmas.
The plot summaries introduce the characters and outlines the story of what happens.

About
Join Dick Whittington and his acrobatic cat as they journey from Poole to Olde London Town then across the sea seeking fame and fortune. Meet the magical Fairy Bow Bells and the hilarious Dame Dolly Donuts. Boo, cheer, laugh, sing along and don't let King Rat become Lord Mayor!
Dick Whittington stars popular children's TV presenter Chris Jarvis.
In addition to playing the role of Dick Whittington he directs and writes the pantomime with actor Peter Duncan.
Since making his name presenting from the 'Broom Cupboard' in the early 90s on Children's BBC, Chris Jarvis has written and presented many programmes for young people and was one of the original line-up of CBeebies presenters. He can currently be seen on CBeebies co-presenting Show Me Show with Pui Fan Lee and will no doubt be joining in with Blue Peter's 60th celebrations this year along with Peter who was a presenter of the show in the 1980s.
