2021 Widgit Symbol Update
The Changes: General
Font
The font used within all symbols has been updated for consistency but mainly for legibility by using the FS Me font, which was researched and developed by FontSmith in collaboration with Mencap. FS Me has been specifically designed for legibility for people with learning disabilities. Every letter of FS Me was tested for its appeal and legibility with a wide range of learning disabilities.

Direction Arrows
The 'direction' arrow has been thickened to denote a direction and to distinguish it from the 'at' arrow. It has a straight stem to avoid confusion with the 'movement' arrow.

Movement Arrows
The 'movement' arrows have been updated by using a stem that is thicker at the base and thins along the direction of movement. This is also to distinguish it from other types of arrow.
